BETTY DAWSON has played hammered
dulcimer for 17 years. She took lessons
in Kentucky, and was an active member of
the Louisville Dulcimer Society, where
she learned many of the old standards,
led jam sessions and enjoyed playing gigs.
Since moving home to Memphis, Betty now teaches hammered dulcimer in the Memphis area and teamed up with Lee Cagle on mountain dulcimer to record a CD of folk tune favorities, "The Water is Wide." Betty is active in jam sessions and folk events in the area and is available for workshops and performances.
